7.5 week Progress Report

I've been back in the Bay for just over 7 weeks (well, 6 if you don't count the week I flew home for Christmas). YAY.

So far I've...

  • Reconnected with lots of friends & had a busier social calendar than in a longass time!
  • Chatted with a dozen folks who I respect a ton to pick their brains about movement strategy
  • Driven my car less than half as much as I've ridden public transit or biked-yay!!!!
  • Gone on a few dates
  • Joined the church choir-more yay!!!
  • Settled back in to work at CFJ
  • Relished getting to know my temporary housemates, and found permanent housing
  • Played with lots of little kids

and in the process, I've learned (or relearned) that just cuz....

  • ...you've made space and time to think about the "big picture" doesn't mean it's easy to figure out the questions, strategies, and steps to doso
  • ... many Bay Area January days are tease-your-East-Coast-friends-gorgeous doesn't change the lack of insulation and heat that makes houses freeeeezing
  • ...you're working part-time doesn't mean you won't get busy or stressed
  • ...you learned to relax and be still this summer CAN mean that you remember how to do that back in your "regular life"

Secret Confession: All the "yous" in that list are about me. I'm sure you didn't know that!

Next up: striving to find a balance, articulating some of the questions that I want to address that help get at the biggee of "Where are we going and what's our strategy for getting there", figuring out how to pay the bills after March, moving and settling in for more than 2 months.

I'm so envious. That sounds like THE FREAKIN' LIFE, you don't even know!

Especially the permanent housing...and the dating, gimme some of that...and the learning, oh yeah you get an "A" for "Awesome!" Keep on movin'.
